MISSION STATEMENT The mission of USA Ski Jumping is to develop and promote the careers of United States athletes who are contenders for Olympic, World Championship, and World Cup competitions and to nurture programs that increase the number of American athletes competing in the sport of ski jumping as well as to improve and sustain the quality of ski jumping opportunities offered to American athletes at local, regional, national, and international levels. USA Ski Jumping will work to increase the visibility of the sport of ski jumping and toincrease its popularity nationwide. USA Ski Jumping will provide a structure and system of programs to support the ski jumping community and provide opportunities to American athletes of all ages; develop educational materials and programs for participants and supporters of the sport; coordinate communications to promote the sport; provide coaching to elite level athletes and coaching support to the ski jumping community; identify and select American athletes to compete in international events; and fund the programs for athletes competing at the highest level of international competitions. VISION STATEMENT The primary goal of USA Ski Jumping is to support the existing system of local, regional, and national organizations to provide American ski jumpers, coaches, and clubs with assistance, development programs, training opportunities, and competition events. USA Ski Jumping programs will assist individuals and organizations with the delivery of services and programs that will achieve USA Ski Jumping’s mission. USA Ski Jumping’s direct contributions to the growth and support of the American ski jump community will include communication and coordination activities, education programs, marketing and development efforts, and managing and funding programs for America’s elite level athletes and coaches. As the communication conduit among individuals, organizations (e.g. USSA, USSA Regional Committees, FIS, USOC, IOC, NCAA, USCSA, High School Headmasters associations…), clubs, schools, jump centers, and national program and elite team sponsors and supporters, USA Ski Jumping will facilitate communications for the vitality of the sport in the United States. USA Ski Jumping will coordinate scheduling, siting, and promotion of events and activities of individuals and organizations. USA Ski Jumping’s educational programs are designed to serve the American ski jump community with publications, clinics, and workshops on ski jumping technique, training methods, event organization and management, and club development. USA Ski Jumping’s coaches and officials education programs develop standards and teachers of standards that improve the quality and consistency of programs and services offered to athletes across America. USA Ski Jumping’s marketing and development programs will generate awareness of American ski jumpers’ accomplishments among the American public with a focus on potential sponsors and suppliers to develop relationships that lead to funding of elite team athletes’ training and competition programs. USA Ski Jumping will manage the activities of the elite team activities it funds.
